Spanish I

This course is a practical step-by-step instructional program that interrelates and presents geography, culture, grammar, vocabulary, and writing in a communicative manner. It enables students to understand and use more authentic Spanish in real life situations.
Spanish II

Prerequisite: C or higher in Spanish I and/or Instructor Approval

Spanish II is the continued study of grammar, composition, literature, and conversation in Spanish. The students will be expected to converse in Spanish and learn more communication skills for survival. The course also includes the continuation of the study of history, culture, and geography of Spanish-speaking countries.
Spanish III

Spanish III is a further continuation in the series of Spanish grammar, composition, literature, and conversation. It is an intermediate course, emphasizing mastery of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students are introduced to non-fictional texts and Spanish literature. Some of the course work is done on a more individual basis. All instruction will be done in Spanish. This course is not open to freshmen.
AP Spanish Language and Culture

AP Spanish Language students will prepare to successfully complete the AP Spanish Language exam while studying a wide range of cultural and literary works from the Spanish speaking world in all four skill areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Spanish is used exclusively by the teacher and the students during class. This course includes extensive reading and writing assignments. Students will be required to complete a research project. It is expected that students will take the AP Exam and seek college credit, college placement, or both from institutions of higher education.
