A-G courses are classes you take in high school that prepare you for college. Think of them like a checklist of the types of classes colleges expect you to complete so you're ready for the challenges of college-level work.

Here’s what the "A-G" letters stand for:
A: History or Social Science
B: English
C: Math
D: Science
E: Language Other Than English
F: Visual and Performing Arts
G: College Prep Electives
To meet the A-G requirements, you’ll need to take a certain number of these classes and get at least a C grade or higher. By completing these, you keep the door open for applying to colleges like the University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) when you graduate high school. It is important to take these courses even if you don't think you want to go to college now- you may change your mind by your senior year!
